Rod Stewart & Ron Wood - Maggie May (Live At Royal Albert Hall 2004)

One of those "magical" moments...I've watched this ten times today and STILL get goose bumps. Enjoy.

Crap, I just remembered I have to stay up and see the Wings and Coyotes, but I'm sure it will be worth it. Keep your stick on the ice and stay tuned.

Ronnie White

The last few days have been turbulent for me. Many ups and downs through the roller coaster of life, but none worse than the ride of Thursday and Friday. Friday I had been dreading since it was to be the anniversary of mom's passing...but it took on a different dimension due to Thursday.

Thursday one of the finest young men that I have ever had the privilege to know, passed away suddenly. Ronnie, or Ron, was on the first team I ever coached at Pinckney. Ron and I seemed to connect on a level that others didn't or couldn't. Our relationship meant a lot to me and I regret I wasn't there to help him in his last moments. Ron's life and his potential will be left unfulfilled.

Ron's passing only cements the saying "only the good die young" and that was never more apparent than Thursday when he left us. For on Thursday I was exposed to another individual, elderly and dying this person is bitter, spiteful, rude and full of hate. They had lived a long and fruitful life. Their only purpose in life now seems to be to bring pain and suffering to others. I tolerate this because I do not know God's plan but I do know that His will will be done...but then I get the news about Ron...and it's sooo true, only the good die young!

Ron made some mistakes---who hasn't? Ron wasn't perfect---who is? (Granted there was a man a couple thousand years ago, but nobody has claimed that recently) But Ron had a heart as big as all out doors, it's cliche but it's true. Ron has his "rough" side true, but once you got to know him you saw a person who truly cared about others. A sensitive individual was crying to get out.

One memory of Ron that I will cherish above all others is how he looked after my little girl in school. My daughter was a freshmen in high school when they met and Ron immediately took on the role of "big brother" to her. Ron would check on her once a day, make sure she was smiling and see that the world was treating her well. I had never asked him to do this, he did it because he cared. He cared for me enough to care about my daughter. It was really nothing more than that but it made my daughter feel special and secure. I could list several similar stories about Ron, it was who he was.

These memories flood back to me as I hear the news of Ron's passing and I look to the elderly person I'm with and say it's true "only the good die young". Ron's life was one full of potential and I deeply regret I wasn't there for him in his time of need. He touched my life in many ways, I miss him and will never forget him.

In closing, I want Ron, or Ronnie, to know I was proud to share the field of battle with him. I know Ronnie is in Heaven, sitting at the "perfect" football field waiting for the rest of us to show up now! Well hold my place there Ronnie, I look forward to the time when we take that field together again. You are and always will be my friend Ronnie. My life has been enriched by you and I am a better man having known you. God bless you my friend, I miss you terribly already. You're a true champion to me!

Performance at the Well 4/17/10

Oh my! We got the DVD done for comic Susie 2295 this past Saturday but the BIG news is we discovered a new talent. Not to take anything away from Susie's performance, which was great, we had a young lady who had never been on stage, never sang in front of a group, never sang without musical backup---and she was fantastic! Kaylee Mills blew us away and as soon as we can we're going to share some of her video with you.

This is what it's all about really, giving artist their chance. Susie now has some marketing tools to assist her career and make money with. And Kaylee has been bitten by the performing bug now. Folks, you would not know that this was Kaylee's first time singing in public. Lots of performers would not have done it like she did either---without music. Our hats off to this young lady and we look forward to more from her in the future.

Stay tuned for more on this "historic" evening of Performances @ The Well. Until tomorrow, stay tuned.

Rushing

You ever been "rushing"? You know, rushing around, rushing from here to there, that kind of thing? Been rushing today, got two weeks of work to do within 3 days. Not impossible, certainly challenging, but is it "forgiving"? Ah let us ponder that for awhile.

Do not dwell more than two minutes on the above thought as blood will begin shooting out of your left ear. Seriously, there's a web site and chat room about this...

Now on to business...what do we have? Oh yeah, this Saturday at The Well we're doing a photo shoot for those performers badly in need of one done and we will running the video camera where at least two acts will be captured. Remember we need to fill the place to give our performers the treatment and respect they so deserve (yeah right one of these guys is my cousin) so admission this Saturday is just a $1 donation at the door.

Look forward to seeing you all there, doors open at 7, our shows will begin promptly @ 8.

Until later, happy thoughts...
and keep your stick on the ice and stay tuned.

Performance at the Well 4/17/10

Greetings fellow musicians and music lovers! A week from this Saturday, April 17th we have a special edition of “Performances at The Well” we’d like to invite all of you to. The show will begin at 8pm, doors will open at 7pm and we guarantee a night of entertainment you won’t soon forget.

First comedian Susie 2295 will be performing and recording her first DVD there that night. We want to fill the place so admission is a mere $1 donation at the door! In addition to Susie you will be treated to the acoustic sounds of Miss Lauren Alm and Guy Robertson to open the festivities.

Now if you’re a performer yourself, this is where it gets real interesting. Guy hosts an Open Mic for the first part of the show which you could participate in if you register ahead of time (Lamocu 810-623-8131, ask for Al). But in addition to that, our photographer in residence will be doing promo shots for performers starting at $60 for a twenty minute session.

Come prepared in your performing garb, have some idea of the image you want to project and Karen will take care of the rest! Sessions will begin just before 7pm and go approximately until 10pm that evening. We’re saying $60 to start with since some performers requests may be more involved and require going outside, additional staging etc. Karen will work with you as much as time and your budget allows. But $60 is a great price for two shots that you will be able to use on everything from the web to t-shirts and never worry about quality, resolution or anything again.

Now if you’re just a music lover…$1 to see three local acts about to begin the ascent to fame and fortune is priceless. A bargain to see history in the making and you can say you “were there” and “I saw them when they were just starting out”.

Call Lamocu Productions to reserve your 20 min. session right now, spots are filling up. Call and reserve your space at 810-623-8131 or 810-433-1899 and ask for Al or Stavey right now.

Another Hero Passes

Mr. Class I liked to call him, John Forsythe left us recently. He was 92 and had done "tons" of stuff besides Dynasty. But that's all I seem to be hearing about him is that he was the Dynasty Star! Mr. Forsythe had a great film career that people should research and he was a pioneer in early television.

For this writer though, he will always be remembered for one famous line. For they say there is no such things as small parts, just small actors. An actor can create an undeniable character that influences and even creates a lasting impression. Class, style, dignity, it all came through when he would say, "Good morning Angels!" Charlie Townsend you will be missed.
