City Limit returns to InSights!

The high school trio City Limit returns to InSights on Saturday, October 10, 2009. Lamocu Productions is very proud to bring this band back, many things have changed since the last time they performed for us...we have a sponsor now, a professional emcee etc etc. and we feel this will be their best performance yet.
If you haven't seen these guys yet, don't miss this opportunity. To see more of them check out their myspace site, http://www.myspace.com/citylimitmi
Guy Robertson, the talented troubadour we've discovered recently, returns to begin his run as our musical emcee and we're excited to have him. Guy's wit adds a dimension to his musical talent that makes him a very special talent and person as well. Guy has had extensive experience running Open Mic nights and we're honored that he has joined our team.
This night promises to be one of our best shows. In addition to the $5 coupon you will receive for your paid admission, Buffalo Wild Wings now has given us coupon books with values over $50 for sale for only $10. It almost doesn't pay not to come our music nights at InSights.
In addition to all this, Lauren Alm will be one of the performers this Thursday at the debut of the Art Gallery at InSights. The Gallery will be held every first Thursday of the month and we think Lauren will become a regular fixture in this program. To see what Lauren has been up to, check out her myspace http://www.myspace.com/laurenalmacoustic
We too have a myspace now, http://www.myspace.com/alsmithlamocu check it out, it's still a work in progress but so far we like it. Of course the video editor down the hall is constantly talking about how HE could make it better, but those of you who know him know he's mostly talk---so I just tell him to go back in his hole and get back to work. lol
Well that's about it for now, more to come, thanks for reading along, stay tuned.

Fusion @ The Well!

Fusion entertainment has a huge show at The Well tonight, unfortunately I cannot attend...but you still can! One of our favorite bands, A Hero Falls is performing so get there if you can. Of course it's competing with "friday night lights" but if you're into that, by all means get there.

The Well is located at 7191 Grand River, same side as Rollerama just two miles away from I-96's exit 145. "Just" behind a place called InSights that you people that follow this blog may be familiar with. By the way, you'll see the sandwich sign out front for tomorrow's show at InSights, that's when you'll know when to turn. lol But rock on tonight, our best to Nate and the gang of A Hero Falls!

My Space & Open Mic

Hello faithful followers, we're getting more techy every day. Some of you I'm sure are saying "yeah right" just like the geek video editor down the hall is, but it's true! Check out my My Space site http://www.myspace.com/alsmithlamocu
The comedy Open Mic has been modified to include music. We're doing this for a couple of reasons, one is to give the improv troupe a bigger audience, the other is work towards our ultimate goal of...(oops it's a secret)
Hope to see you all at InSights this Saturday, once again we will have coupons to use at Buffalo Wild Wings and now we have coupons books for sale. These coupon books have over $50 worth of savings in them and are available for the mere cost of $10. Unlike the coupons we give out with your paid admission that are only good at the Howell BW's, these coupon books can be used at the Ypsilanti BW's as well.
More later, until then, stay tuned.

The Guild is expanding....

Hello everyone, some major changes have been happening around here so sorry for the late notice, but we are having a get together this Saturday the 26th. Usually it is our comedy open mic night with the improv troupe "Whatever You Call It" and that will still happen but...we have had thoughts of doing a local version of Prairie Home Companion (for lack of any other comparison) or for those of you "old" enough, the Ed Sullivan Show---basically a VARIETY show. So why not start now?
The improv group needs more of an audience so Guy Robertson and possibly Al Smith (not me) who both performed at the last Guild meeting will be on hand and we're welcoming all musicians to come and join us. We will hopefully be taping some segments to try and get a feel of what the variety show would be like and possibly promoting it to PBS or local cable outlets. It could turn out to be a "local" version of Austin City Limits---hey, who knows the potential, it is there all we need is YOU.
And here's some more exciting news, now admission has been cut to $5 AND paid members/patrons will still get the $5 food coupon for Buffalo Wild Wings. So for your $5 you get entertainment and food, think about it. And we're done there yet, we're still trying to sweeten the deal even more in coming weeks, it's just unfortunate we have to charge at all, but it is a great venue and rent needs to be made. Now as a final bonus...if you perform you can get in free as well and get the food coupon.
I don't know about you but I'm pretty excited on the direction we are going and hope you will be too. Come join us and let us know how we can make this effort even better in the future for you. Any questions please call Lamocu Productions @ 810-623-8131.

Exceptional Open Mic!

Well for the first official Open Mic with our sponsor Buffalo Wild Wings, it was a tremendous success! Anyone remember the album Twin Sons of Different Mothers by Tim Weisberg and Dan Folgeberg? Well that is what it was like when I met Guy Robertson and Al Smith! Met lots of new friends and look forward to working with these two artists again.

Meetings today for the Gallery opening at InSights and the next Quartermania.

Pictures from Saturday will be coming later. Our next Open Mic at InSights is for comedy and will be Sept. 26...and IF we EVER get a promo photo of "Whatever You Call It", you will see these talented people here. lol

Football season started yesterday...the Lions lost...the more things change, the more they stay the same. Until later, thanks for reading along and stay tuned.
