Performance @ The Well 8/21/10

WOW! Has it been a month since we've been here? Guess so, sorry about that...

Now on to the future! This month the Performances @ The Well series brings you a musical fundraiser for LACASA featuring Milford's own Alan Smith. Alan has a couple of cd's to his credit and is actually one of the best kept secrets around. After this performance he will be a secret no more.

In addition to the 50-50 raffle there will be a bucket auction taking place as well as the usual Buffalo Wild Wings gift certificates we will be raffling off. Tickets are $10 and are available through LACASA, Lamocu Productions and on Event Brite http://wellperformlacasa.eventbrite.com/

More later, we promise...so stay tuned!

Performance @ The Well 7/17/10

This Saturday the Performance @ The Well series continues with a musical fundraiser for the American Red Cross. Open Mic will feature the very talented Kali Mills who will be on her way to American Idol auditions in Minnesota next week. Then we will be entertained by the very talented duo of John Bonham and Rick Thompson...or as their fans may know them...John & Rick...or...Rick & John.

Either way you look at it, or them, you will be treated to a great night of local entertainment while supporting organization we all need, our

American Red Cross!

That's it for now, until tomorrow, stay tuned.

Back In The Saddle Again!

Hey folks! You probably thought we had fallen off the face of the Earth...or, you could have been relieved by the lack of communication. In any event we are back. There is so much to write about, but lets pause here and thank everyone for all the support and understanding you have rendered to us these past few weeks; it was appreciated and will never be forgotten. God bless you all!

Now onto business, probably too much for one installment but we got to start somewhere. Saturday July 17th Performances @ The Well continue with a fund raiser for the American Red Cross. At this time you can purchase advanced tickets at http://www.wellperformanceredcross.eventbrite.com/ and if you take your ticket to Howell's Buffalo Wild Wings and dine before the show, BWW's will donate 20% of your bill to the American Red Cross.

Performing for us on the 17th will be John Bonham and Rick Thompson, a great duo to jam with on a warm summer night. These gentlemen are just that "gentlemen", a class act to be savored and enjoyed! Opening for them will be the new local "phenom" Kaylee Mills who literally stole the show a couple months ago when she took the stage for the first time and sang Japanese. Kaylee's career is already taking off and the following week she will be en route to Minnesota to compete in American Idol.

Two Classics

A 1907 PHOTO

This one needs to circulate I think this is one email that needs to be forwarded until every American with a computer receives it. The year is 1907, one hundred and 3+ years ago.

READ PRINT UNDER PICTURE!

Theodore Roosevelt's ideas on Immigrants and being an AMERICAN in 1907.

'In the first place, we should insist that if the immigrant who comes here in good faith becomes an American and assimilates himself to us, he shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else, for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed, or birthplace, or origin. But this is predicated upon the person's becoming in every facet an American, and nothing but an American...There can be no divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn't an American at all. We have room for but one flag, the American flag... We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language.. And we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people.'

-Theodore Roosevelt 1907

Every American citizen needs to read this! Until next time, stay tuned, keep your stick on the ice and go Hawks!

Events Be Happening!

Great night helping fight cancer on Saturday. Kudo's to Cindy Lit and the Shark's Club for putting on a great event!

Coming up this Friday we're helping with the B.O.B.'s (Band of Brothers) of the Naz (Brighton Church of the Nazarene) with their annual wild game fund raiser. The B.O.B.'s do great work for our youth, in fact you can see samples of their great work with the Skate building right on the Naz's property. Tickets are $10, dinner is at 6pm.

Performances at The Well will be picking up next month on June 19. Local performers will be jamming for the Faith Medical Clinic, located in Pinckney. This clinic is the only FREE one in our county---something lots of people need, even families with homes and jobs. It's one of our treasures and we need to keep it. Look for the event details here and on Facebook.

Performances at The Well has two more dates about to be finalized:
July 17 looks to be a performance for American Red Cross and August 21 "could" be for LACASA.We have been asked to assist the Howell Rec Center with their Last Day Breakaway and we're real excited about this opportunity, it's a new venue, a new chance to show what we can do etc.
